India Facts
Life in the slums of Mumbai is a rough life for the people who live there. They live in huts made from scratch. Some materials they use are plywood, pieces of aluminum, metal towels blankets and other things of that nature. They wash their clothes and bathe in pools of filthy water. They have little food so the people are thin. The way people earn money is to beg, make people pay to use the toilet, or they have a job that has little pay. Children will be begging in the streets trying to get some money for their parents.
Human trafficking in India is also a big problem. They traffic men, woman and even children. They are trafficked for forced labor and commercial sexual exploitation and forced marriage. They traffic women for them to be prostitutes. The forced labor consists of working on brick kilns, rice mills, agricultural, and embroidery factories. Children are trafficked for factory workers, domestic servants, beggars, and agriculture workers, and they have been used in the army by some terrorist and insurgent groups. The children are used by people to make them do hard labor for no pay. They do the hard jobs that no one wants to do. One example of a job is working in the stone breaking industry. Children have to walk in a river to find and collect big stones to use for construction. Each stone they collect they have to carry the stones to shore where they are then broken up and construction companies come and collect them.
I think our movie is an accurate representation to real life in India. I think it would be too complicated for someone to try to make up how bad life is in India. I think the person who wrote the movie spent time in India observing how life in the slums is like to try to make his movie as accurate and realistic as possible. The scenes in the movie may be a little over exaggerated so that it makes it more interesting. But I think most of the scenes of life in India are realistic.
India has people living in the slums because it is so over populated. The current population of India is 1,173,108,018. The TFR is 2.65 children/per woman. Women try to have as many children as they can because the life expectancy is so low. The life expectancy is 66.46 years. The infant mortality rate is 49.13 deaths to 1,000 births.
India is having trouble with poverty. It is ranked 119th on the poverty line. 25 percent of its population lives below the poverty line. That is 46,924,320.72 people live in poverty. It is sad that that many people live in poverty in India.

India's Problems
A big issue in India is the trafficking of human beings. Children have to walk in a river to find and collect big stones to use for construction. Each stone they collect they have to carry the stones to shore where they are then broken up and construction companies come and collect them. Anuradha Koirala, the CNN hero of the year is trying to put an end to human trafficking and child exploitation. She started an orphanage to help women and young girls get over what has happened to them and get medicine for any sexual transmitted diseases. When she takes in a woman or a girl she doesn’t bother them. She says she waits for the ladies to get comfortable with their new surroundings. Science 1993 Anuradha Koirala has helped rescue more than 12,000 women and girls. This is my paragraph on India’s problems, and who is helping them.

Civil War in Sudan
In-migration: To move to a different part of the same community or territory.
Out-migration: To move out of a community, region, or country to go to some wear else.
Forced migration: Being forced to move out of a place.
Net internal migration: The difference between immigration and emigration in a certain area during a specific time.
Movers from abroad: Is number of people who moved into a certain area.
Internally displaced person: Is someone who is forcefully taken from their home and sent somewhere else.
The civil war in Sudan started in 1983 when Sudan’s president said that all non-Muslimism people should be put to death. Their president’s name is Nimeiri. He wants Sudan to be a one religion country instead of multiple religions. People have to flee the country so they don’t get killed. Some go to cities others flee into the desert where they can’t grow food. The war is still going on today although they are trying to get the president to sign a peace treaty.
The part of the movie was about the men getting to America. The men were learning about how to use the lights, how to shower, what a refrigerator is used for and other simple tasks. They had to learn how to buy things at the grocery store and what was and wasn’t for sale. They had to get jobs so they could pay the government back for getting them to America.

Weekend HW part 2
I was born and I live in Maryland. Both of my parents were born in Maryland. My mom was born in Baltimore and so was my dad. My mom’s parents were both born in Pennsylvania. On my grandmother’s side, her parents were both also from Pennsylvania. My great-great grandmother was born in Italy and she moved to Pennsylvania. My great-great grandfather was born in Italy. On my grandfather’s side his parents are from Pennsylvania and Italy. His mom was from Pennsylvania and his father was from Gualtieri, Italy. He came to the United States on February 28, 1906. On my grandfather’s fathers side both of his parents came from Italy. His great-great grand parents came from Italy also.
On my dad’s side both of his parents are from Maryland. My great grandparents on my dad’s mom’s side were both from Pennsylvania. My great-great grandparents on my dad’s side were from PA and Whales. My great-great grandmother was from PA and my great-great grandfather was from Whales. My great grandparents on my dad’s father’s side were both from MD. My great-great grandparents on my dad’s side were both from Germany.
I thought looking at my family’s history was a cool project to do. I learned some facts that no one has ever told me before. I thought it was neat that I had family members that lived in Whales and Germany and Italy. I didn’t know that I had so many family members that lived in PA. I think one day in class we should go to some website and look at our family trees and do a little project on seeing where everyone has family members from. We can also see if anyone is related to someone famous. We could look and see if anyone had a relative in any famous war. it would be fun to do in class together.
Part 1 of weekend HW
When I graduate collage I want to be a sharpshooter in the coastguard or be a sharpshooter for the SWAT team. I want to live somewhere in Maryland because I like it here. If I couldn’t live in Maryland I would move to Canada or I would move to Colorado.
I would move to Canada because if the United States economy crashes Canada may have a better one. I would also like to live in Canada for the bear hunting and the pretty landscape. Also if the United States was being attacked I would live in Canada to be away from the war zone. Also if the unemployment rate drops so much that it is almost impossible to get a new job I would go to Canada and be a guide for hunters.
The reason I would move to Colorado is for the elk hunting and the way the landscape is. I would like to Colorado because I think it would be fun to live by the mountains or in a house in a small town. It would be fun to ride ATVs on the different types of trails. It would be nice to raise kids in the fresh air of a small town than raise them up in a polluted city. My job in Colorado would to be a sharpshooter in their SWAT team.
The reason I want to be in the coast guard is because I love being around the water. I love to go swimming. I also like shooting guns. I think it would be cool to shoot across the bows of boats with a machine gun. I also think it would be awesome to own your own fifty caliber. The reason I would want to be in the SWAT team is because I would like to help innocent hostages from a mentally insane criminal. Or do a big drug bust and save thousands of people from buying drugs.

The TFR for a country needs to maintain 2.1 for the population to stay the same. Migration rate is the number of people entering or leaving your country, measured by 1,000. why do people migrate? push and pull factors. population pyramid is the number of how many people in different age groups.
